The Best Bubbles

There are many bubble-makers out there made for children, but I give this one my vote for being the best.

I don't even know what it's called. I just know that we found it in a beat-up clearance box at TJ Maxx for $3. I also know is that it makes Topher smile, he can do it by himself, and it doesn't drip bubble solution everywhere.

And while Topher has been busy with those bubbles, I have been busy getting my house in tip-top shape for his birthday party later this month. I have been filling nail holes, repainting scuffed walls, hanging mirrors, and just generally doing all those things that I meant to do a year ago when we moved in. If you ask Topher how old he's going to be, he'll say "two!" and if you ask him what kind of party he's going to have he'll say, "choo choo party." I LOVE that he's aware of his birthday this year, it makes planning it all the more fun.

If you know me you know I love having a project to obsess over, and this party is one in particular that I am over the moon about. I love Topher more than life and I want his birthday to be a happy, wonderful day for him. (It's possible that he could start forming long-term memories at this age, after all, and I want them to be beautiful ones.)

I want him to feel like he's floating on a giant bubble that day, one that never pops or disappoints. One that floats all of his friends to his house and surrounds him with happiness.

I want him to fly.

  2. Macie - I love this post! So true. We go all out for our little ones because we love them SO MUCH. Being a parent is the best.

PS - I need to touch up some paint areas in my house and I am TERRIFIED it will look "off." You'll have to show me what you did.
